Astypalaia 2023

After an uneventful journey from California, we have finally arrived in Astypalaia. Actually we have been here for several days, but who is counting.

First night on the island so we decided to make it celebratory and traditionally Greek. We opted for dinner at Mistrali, one of our favorite restaurants. It is an open air venue with a seating area made up of comfy sofas and chairs, made for lounging and relaxing. It was a perfect evening, not to hot and with a light breeze.

Our view was this photo of the boats moored in the port. I thought the blue flood lights on this sailboat particularly attractive.

Anyway we gorged ourselves on some of our favorite Greek dishes, including zucchini fritters, chick peas in sauce and tsutsukakia. 

No ouzo though, still jet lagged and the hike back up to the house in the Chora was daunting sober.
