Agios Konstantinos

For several years now, Andrea has been itching to go to the tiny beach called Agios Konstantinos. We can see it from the our studio's patio, it is across Livadi Bay, two to three miles away from where we live. We tried to walk there last year, but events conspired against us. We had no map, there wasn't a sign in sight, we had little water and no food, and we got some bad directions from a backpacker. We were lost, despite locals telling us that it was easy to find, you couldn't miss it.

This year we rented a car, bought a map, packed some food and drink and set off for Agios Konstantinos. Low and behold there were signs. We wound our way up into the mountains on a paved road until it became a dirt road. It was a single lane dirt road that went on for a mile or so. I was able to pilot our car down and we finally made it!

I took this shot from the small church that is perched on a hill over the beach. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, or have a drink at the bar.

The waves at Agios Konstantinos are maybe a foot high, while swimming at the bay in Livadi is like swimming in a lake.

We had a swim and went back up the windy dirt road towards Livadi.

More soon.
