From LAX with love

Travelling out of LAX is almost always a trying experience, just braving the traffic getting there sets my teeth on edge. Being in the terminal isn't any better, with the bustling roar of humanity ringing in my ears. It is an exercise in sensory overload.

However, today there was a bright spot to my LAX experience. Meet Eve the LAX therapy dog! Believe me, LAX needs lots of therapy dogs. My stress level went way down after interacting with her.

She is a young English Setter that thrives on hugs and kisses.  She advertises her role by wearing a bright red service dog harness with the words "Pet Me" embroidered on it. Folks from all over the world and all walks of life lavish affection on this beautiful dog.

I wish Eve had come with us on our Air France flight, as it was unpleasant.  The trip was extremely turbulent across all of North America, the captain made a plea for help from any doctors or nurses on board to help with a medical emergency, and there was a slightly combative drunkard in the row behind us. The man was so drunk that before he passed out he was able to offend several other passengers. When he awoke, due to the extreme turbulence, he lurched around the cabin searching all of the overhead bins for his hand luggage.  Flight attendants could not settle him back into his seat. Eventually, before he passed out again, he made the discovery that his carry on was under the seat in front of him.

Maybe airlines need therapy dogs too.

More soon.
