Greek Bus Driving Skills

While we were doing our evening grocery shopping we came across this traffic jam involving a bus, some motorcycles, cars and pedestrians.  Unfortunately we were the pedestrians, laden with grocery bags. I seriously wondered whether the bus would crush us and our tomatoes into the lovely white building behind us.

Luckily this interaction occurred on the straightaway, so it was a bit easier for everyone to maneuver.

I will rent a car again this weekend, let's hope I don't meet the bus on a narrow road. It has happened before, and I always have the same reaction. I give out a little shriek and cry "to leoforio" (bus) as I swerve to the shoulder to avoid a head on collision.
