Codgers Found

Earlier in July I noted that the codgers, watchmen of the Chora, had disappeared from their favorite kafenio. Just completely vanished, every single one, replaced with German tourists.  Where had they gone and why?

They have been found in much swankier digs, although they can no longer see everyone coming in and out of the Chora.

Their new kafenio is maybe a third of a mile down the road toward the beach in Livadi. As you can see from this photo, they have lots of tables and seats and several giant shade trees. What you can't see is the beautiful view of Livadi Bay and the Aegean beyond. The kafenio is actually across the street, so servers scuttle back and forth through the traffic delivering orders.

It seems that their move has a simple answer. They have followed their favorite manager/owner to this new location. Their local kafenio can now boast about it's fabulous view from under the shady trees.
