Wind can have definite characteristics or personality depending on your location. In Nantucket it has an angry whipping sound like a whirling dervish, while the Santa Ana's in California can have a long low moaning sound.

Wind is pretty much a constant in Astypalaia, and in the summer it is a constant friend that can cool your core body temperature. Today the wind was fierce, slamming the blue shuttered windows and whipping up white caps on the water. Small boats have taken shelter in the harbors and coves.

You need wrap around sunglasses to protect your eyes from flying debris.
